Google’s Adsense program is an excellent way to earn extra money. The system should not be abused in order to make a quick buck. Many people violate Google’s Adsense Terms and Conditions and subsequently get banned.
1. Do not click on your own ads
This is obvious why Adsense accounts get disabled. It’s very surprising how many people do click on their ads. There is no fooling Google; they have their own proprietary technology to find out if the publisher has clicked on their ads. Make sure you do not make this mistake.
2. Do not have others click on your ads
Swapping clicks on forums is a big no no. Never do this. Don’t ask your friends, relatives or employees to click on your ads. The best way to protect your self is to not disclose your domain to anyone. This will keep you safe from getting in trouble with Adsense.
3. Do not modify Google’s Adsense code
Modifying Google’s Adsense code is against Google’s policy. Plain and simple, do not modify the code at all.
4. Do not put images next to your Adsense ads
This is a fairly new policy with Adsense. If you have images next to your Adsense ads, remove them immediately.
5. Do not title your ads the wrong way
Google Adsense does not allow you to label your ads with messages like “click here”, “related links” or anything that may mislead people to thinking they are not advertisements. You can mention “advertisements” or “sponsored links”, because that is really what they are.
6. Do not put Adsense on pages with not enough content
Most webmasters should already be aware of this. Google only allows Adsense on pages with enough good content. Adsense on thank you pages, subscription pages, etc. is not advisable.
7. Do not put Adsense on sites with prohibitive content
Sites that have anything to do with pornography, drugs, gambling, hatred, etc. are not allowed to put Adsense code on. This is definitely self explanatory, but sometimes people just don’t get it.
8. Do not create multiple Google Adsense accounts
You are allowed to have 1 personal account and 1 business account. The two accounts get linked, so do not try to fool Google and created other accounts with different names. If you do and it is working for you, fine. But if Google traces these accounts and they are being used by the same person, your accounts are in danger of being suspended.
9. Do not put your site on any kind of auto-surf or traffic exchange
This is against Google’s TOS, so you should stay clear. If you have multiple templates (without adsense ads) for your site and are able to switch it just to drive traffic, then it should be fine. But you can not have Adsense on your site if you participate in auto-surf or any traffic exchange.
10. Do not exceed the amount of ads you can display on a page
Google allows you 3 Ad blocks, 2 Link units and 3 referral buttons to a page. (The referrals with discontinue by the end of Aug. 08). I feel that there is more than enough to be allowed on a page from Adsense. Why would you really need anymore than allowed?

11. Do not reveal your Adsense data
You are not allowed to display your CTR, Impressions, eCPM etc. anywhere. There are no objections if you mention how much you earn from Adsense, just do not go into any details about your clicks, impressions, CTR, or eCPM.
12. Do not stay outdated!
The policies for Google are constantly changing. If you get banned from Adsense, you can’t use the excuse that you did not know. They post all policy changes and everyone that puts Adsense on their website should keep up to date with all changes.
This article is not a comprehensive list of Adsense policies and I would highly recommend you go through the policies, in detail, and do not try to cheat the system.
